Following the overflow of the Mata'asan Creek dam in Hualien on September 23, which caused severe flooding in the downstream Guangfu district, the Ministry of Agriculture has launched a meal-delivery motorcycle service to support disaster victims and volunteers, as many local restaurants remain closed due to the damage.
2. Taiwan Pineapples to Enter U.S. Market as USDA Under Secretary Lindberg Visits Taiwan
U.S. Department of Agriculture Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Luke Lindberg visited Taiwan on September 30, bringing with him a delegation of 25 American companies. During the visit, Lindberg announced that the United States will open its market to Taiwanese pineapples, strengthening bilateral agricultural cooperation.
