1. Taiwan Flower Festival Blooms in Japan to Boost Agricultural Exports
To strengthen the presence of Taiwanese agricultural products in the Japanese market, Taiwan’s Ministry of Agriculture has supported the Wan Hong Da Agricultural Marketing Cooperative in adopting an innovative cross-sector promotional approach. The cooperative is hosting the "Taiwan Flower Festival" at Ibaraki Flower Park from May 31 to June 29.
Leveraging the high visibility and foot traffic during the park's peak rose and hydrangea season, the event features a unique five-senses experience to enhance awareness and appreciation of Taiwanese flowers, fruits, and pork products.
In parallel, a targeted social media marketing campaign is being launched through Aoyama Flower Market—the largest flower shop chain in Japan—focusing on the Greater Tokyo area. By integrating diverse marketing strategies within a floral setting, the initiative aims to expand Taiwanese agricultural products’ reach and boost recognition and consumer goodwill in the Japanese market.
2. Fisheries Agency Highlights Local Tuna, Mahi-Mahi in Taipei
Bluefin tuna is one of Taiwan’s most economically valuable fish species, while mahi-mahi (also known as dorado) represents a unique and sustainable domestic seafood resource. To help more people appreciate Taiwan's marine resources and the cultural values behind them, the Fisheries Agency partnered with the Su’ao Fishermen’s Association to host a seafood marketing event on June 22 at Taipei’s Hope Plaza Farmers’ Market. The event featured a diverse selection of local seafood products, including bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, and mahi-mahi.In addition to fresh catches and canned goods for sale, visitors were treated to a variety of local specialty dishes, such as crispy-fried mahi-mahi fillets, pan-seared bluefin tuna steaks, gourmet bluefin tuna salad, and mahi-mahi fish ball soup. The event invited the public to savor the rich flavors of Suao’s coastal waters and support premium domestic seafood.
