1. Premier visits Nantou dragon fruit export orchard
On July 13rd, Premier Cho Rong-tai visited an export orchard for red dragon fruit in Nantou County, Taiwan. He received a briefing from the Agricultural and Food Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture on the current status of Taiwan's red dragon fruit industry, the consultation process for exporting to Japan, and industry support measures. Accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Chen Chun-chi and Agricultural and Food Agency Director Yao Shih-yuan, Premier Cho also participated in fruit picking activities and engaged in casual conversations with farmers. Together, they sampled the local flavors that even Japanese guests have praised.
2. Immigration Agency Collaborates with Fisheries Agency to Organize Compassionate Medical Outreach
The "2024 Compassionate Health Care and Haircut for Foreign Fishermen" event was held on July 14th at the Donggang Fishermen's Association. The Immigration Agency, together with the Fisheries Agency, Donggang Fishermen's Association, Tzu Chi Medical Association, Taiwan Tuna Longline Fishing Association, and Action Home Physical Therapy, organized medical check-ups and haircuts. The event aimed to care for the physical well-being of foreign fishermen, offering booths for hearing, vision, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), traditional Chinese medicine, electrocardiogram, dental checks, physical therapy, and more. Haircut services were also provided to help foreign fishermen maintain a neat appearance.
