1.National Election of 39 District Fisheries Associations Completed
The elections for 39 district fisheries associations nationwide were successfully completed on March 22, with 1,528 member representatives and 793 group leaders elected. The overall voter turnout was 23.54%, and the entire voting process was smooth and orderly. The Fisheries Agency stated that the election involved 4,125 election staff members, 1,708 police officers, and thousands of other personnel. Minister of Agriculture Chen Jun-chi expressed special thanks to all the staff members who participated in this fisheries association election for their hard work and sacrifice of their holidays.
2. Ministry of Agriculture Achieves Great Success at Tokyo Food Show
The largest food exhibition in Asia, the Tokyo Food Show, has concluded, with the Ministry of Agriculture leading 10 businesses to participate this year. The Ministry's International Affairs Department reported that as of March 21, the confirmed order amount received by participating businesses had exceeded 50 million NTD. This is the first time such a high order value has been confirmed shortly after the exhibition's closure, signaling that Taiwanese agricultural products have further strengthened their presence in the Japanese market. The Ministry of Agriculture promotes Taiwanese agricultural products at the Tokyo Food Show every year to expand market reach. This year, 10 businesses participated, showcasing products including rice, fresh and frozen fruits, tea, grouper, black clam products, processed pork products, sweet potato processed goods, herbs, and more.
