1. Taiwan’s brown-marbled grouper certified by Japan
On October 30th, Japan certified Taiwan's brown-marbled grouper as toxin-free in a move that lifted the last import restriction on the nation’s farmed grouper fish, the Fisheries Agency said. The announcement came after eight years of bilateral negotiations and efforts by the Taiwanese aquaculture sector to demonstrate the industry’s compliance with Japan’s food safety standards.2. As autumn comes, it's a great time for the harvest of Taiwan's seafood. The Fisheries Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Taiwan Aquaculture Development Foundation and PX Mart, has launched a promotional campaign themed "Autumn Seafood Season," featuring high-quality domestic aquatic products. From now until December 5, 2024, customers who spend NT$200 or more on designated domestic seafood products at PX Mart stores across Taiwan will receive a cash discount of NT$20 at checkout.
