1.Fishers to be penalized for using Chinese navigation system
A Taiwanese fishing vessel found trafficking drugs used a proscribed Chinese navigation satellite system to avoid detection, a Taiwan Statebuilding Party legislative candidate said On November 14th. In response to the case, the Fisheries Agency said it would confiscate the equipment on the vessel in accordance with the Telecommunications Management Act. The agency and National Communications Commission (NCC) in 2018 banned the use of the Chinese radio navigation system and the sale of related equipment.
2.Taiwan, India to ink migrant worker MOU this year
On November 14th, Minister of Labor Hsu Ming-chun (許銘春) said that Taipei and New Delhi are to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) before the end of this year allowing for Indian migrant workers to come to Taiwan. India's Hindustan Times disclosed that Taipei and New Delhi were looking to sign a migration and mobility agreement to help Taiwan tackle its labor shortage problems in areas such as manufacturing, construction, and in the agriculture and fishery industries.
