1. MOA to Host North and South Food and Agricultural Education Exchange Forums

To promote knowledge sharing and strengthen food and agricultural education, the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) will hold Food and Agricultural Education Exchange Forums in Taipei on July 31 and Kaohsiung on August 5. The events will bring together recipients of the National Food and Agricultural Education Outstanding Contribution Awards, award-winning schools, and leading project teams to share practical experiences in curriculum design and program implementation. Under the theme “From Ideas to Action,” the forums will feature award-winning teaching practices, innovative educational models, and a panel discussion on expanding food and agricultural education across different sectors. Each session is open to 50 participants, with priority given to MOA-funded food and agricultural education project teams. Participants who complete the program will receive three hours of professional training credit.

2. Chiayi Fishermen’s Association Promotes Dongshi Oysters at 14th Oyster Cultural Festival

The Chiayi Fishermen’s Association, with support from the Fisheries Agency, held the 14th Oyster Cultural Festival and Oyster Shucking Competition to promote the Dongshi oyster brand and encourage public support for Taiwan’s domestic oyster industry. The festival featured an oyster shucking competition with 300 participants, as well as seafood education activities, a giant oyster omelet tasting, and oyster shell DIY experiences. Fisheries Agency Director-General Wang Mao-cheng said the event helps consumers better understand the challenges of oyster farming, particularly the impacts of extreme weather, while encouraging them to support local oyster farmers by choosing fresh Dongshi oysters during the harvest season.
